Comparison should remove unsuitable options before it ranks anything

The first job of a comparison is not to produce a winner. It is to identify products that do not fit the use case, electrical architecture or installation constraints. Only then does it make sense to compare price, warranty, efficiency and convenience.

Melnti comparison order

  1. Use case and required load. Define what the equipment must power and for how long.
  2. Electrical compatibility. Check voltage, current, phase, MPPT windows, communication protocols and supported battery lists.
  3. Usable performance. Compare usable battery energy, sustained power, surge behavior, PV input limits and realistic operating conditions.
  4. Installation constraints. Dimensions, weight, enclosure rating, temperature, ventilation, roof layout and service access can eliminate otherwise attractive products.
  5. Warranty and support. Read throughput, cycle, retention and exclusion language and check who actually supports a claim in your market.
  6. Total value. Compare price only after the scope is genuinely comparable.
