Oceania Solar Research

Solar and battery research for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific markets.

Ground-mounted solar farm

Oceania combines mature rooftop markets with island and remote-energy needs

Australia and New Zealand have established residential solar markets, while Pacific island and remote systems can have very different resilience, fuel and grid constraints. The same equipment can be used in all of these settings, but the reason for buying it and the compliance requirements can be very different.

Australia

Australian solar and battery installations operate under national and state/territory electrical rules, network requirements and approved-equipment frameworks. Installer accreditation and current standards matter as much as the equipment specification.

New Zealand

New Zealand guidance emphasizes sizing a system around actual electricity use, roof conditions and future loads. Battery size should be considered together with the solar array and the household’s time-of-use pattern rather than bought as a standalone number.
