Editorial Policy

How Melnti separates research, commercial relationships, corrections and evidence claims.

Commercial rooftop solar array

Purpose

Melnti creates content to help readers make better energy decisions. Editorial work should answer a real user question, explain assumptions and add value beyond rewriting manufacturer or retailer copy.

Source hierarchy

  1. Primary manufacturer manuals, datasheets and compatibility documents
  2. Government, regulator and public-agency publications
  3. Recognized technical institutions and standards bodies
  4. Qualified installer or expert input where attributable
  5. Reputable secondary sources for context

Testing claims

Melnti does not claim “we tested” or “hands-on review” unless the product or system was actually evaluated and the method can be described. Documentation-based reviews are labeled as research-based.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate relationships, lead fees, advertising and sponsorship can fund the site. They do not purchase positive conclusions. Sponsored placements should be labeled clearly enough that a reasonable reader can distinguish them from independent editorial content.

Corrections

Material factual errors should be corrected promptly. Where a meaningful change affects the conclusion of a guide or comparison, the update should be reflected in the modified date and, where useful, an editorial note.

AI-assisted work

Software may assist research, drafting, coding, summarization or data processing. The standard is not whether a tool was used; it is whether the published result is accurate, useful, source-aware and reviewed for the intended audience. Automated output should not be mass-published without editorial review.
