Record quarter
Australia’s Clean Energy Regulator reported that 1GW of rooftop solar was installed in the June quarter of 2026, above the previous 942MW quarterly record from Q4 2023. It also reported more than 500,000 battery applications since the current program began.
What it means for buyers
High installation volumes can increase the value of checking installer capability, connection lead times and equipment availability rather than choosing only on price. Battery economics should still be modelled around the household’s actual tariff, solar production, export limits and backup goals.
