Treat 450V as a hard design boundary
The MPPT RS 450/200 is designed for high-voltage PV strings. Calculate cold-condition string Voc and keep it inside the documented maximum with appropriate engineering margin; never size only from nominal Vmp.
Use all four tracker limits
The 450/200 provides four MPP trackers. Array distribution must respect the documented operating-current and short-circuit-current limits per tracker as well as the total charging capability.
Match the 48V battery bank
The controller can deliver up to 200A charging current. The battery bank, BMS, conductors, fusing and busbars must all be able to accept the configured charge current and voltage safely.
Plan DC isolation and protection
Manufacturer instructions call for appropriately rated DC disconnection and safe installation practices. High-voltage DC work is not a place for connector improvisation or AC-only protection hardware.
Use sourced compatibility records
The controller now appears in Melnti’s Parts & Components surface with manufacturer-backed operating limits. Those limits are a starting point for design, not a substitute for a qualified installer or local electrical rules.
