Lagos projects often balance space, reliability and high-value loads
Dense urban roofs, apartments, mixed residential/commercial buildings, heat, high daytime business loads and generator dependence can all shape project design. Some properties have limited roof area but significant load, making efficiency, load management and battery strategy especially important.
Electricity-market oversight is changing
NERC issued transition orders in late 2024 transferring regulatory oversight of the Lagos electricity market to the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission. Buyers should therefore check current Lagos-specific rules and utility requirements instead of relying on old national assumptions.
Rooftop solar is part of public-sector planning too
In April 2025, Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency and Lagos State Electrification Agency announced collaboration on rooftop solar for public institutions. The programme is not a residential rebate, but it is useful evidence of active rooftop-solar development in the state.
