Australia adds $150m to SME finance program covering solar and batteries

The Australian Government announced another $150m for a CEFC/ANZ finance program that can support rooftop solar, batteries and other energy-saving assets.

The program expansion targets business energy upgrades

On 10 August 2026, the Australian Government announced an additional $150 million for the Clean Energy Finance Corporation partnership with ANZ. Eligible asset categories listed by government include rooftop solar systems, battery storage, EVs and energy-efficient equipment.

The published finance discount is shared

The government notice says ANZ and the CEFC each contribute 0.4% annually toward a combined 0.8% finance discount. Eligibility, credit approval and asset rules still need to be checked with the program provider rather than assumed from a product page.

Why Melnti tracks it

Commercial solar and storage demand is influenced by financing as well as hardware price. Installer and product pages should therefore avoid treating upfront equipment cost as the only purchase factor while also avoiding claims that every buyer or product qualifies.
