- Collect 6–12 months of electricity-use information if available.
- Write down critical loads and backup priorities.
- Photograph the main electrical panel, meter area and roof/site.
- Note existing generator, UPS, battery or solar equipment.
- Decide whether you value bill reduction, backup, off-grid resilience or all three.
What every proposal should identify
- Exact panel, inverter and battery models
- PV DC capacity and inverter AC rating as separate numbers
- Usable battery capacity and output power
- Mounting system and roof attachment method
- Protection devices and electrical modifications
- Monitoring and communications
- Expected production assumptions
- Product and workmanship warranties
- Permits, utility applications and inspection responsibilities
At commissioning and handover
- Receive equipment datasheets and warranty documentation.
- Get monitoring access in your own account where possible.
- Ask for shutdown/startup and emergency instructions.
- Confirm breaker, isolator and circuit labels.
- Keep the final single-line diagram or system schematic if supplied.
- Record serial numbers and installation photos.
