Canada published an updated SREPs results snapshot
Natural Resources Canada reports results for the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program as of 30 June 2026. The program had 127 approved deployment projects, of which 42 were commissioned. The federal page reports 3,410 MW of renewable-energy capacity to be installed, with 1,508 MW already installed.
Storage is a material part of the portfolio
The same results page lists 1,214 MW of energy-storage capacity to be installed and 342 MW currently installed. SREPs supports renewable generation, storage, grid modernisation and transmission/distribution infrastructure, so the totals should not be interpreted as a single technology auction or a forecast of one provincial market.
Indigenous ownership is prominent in the approved deployment set
Natural Resources Canada says 64 approved deployment projects have Indigenous ownership, representing 50% of approved deployment projects, with more than C$1.1 billion in approved funding for projects with Indigenous ownership. Those program-level figures are useful context when assessing how Canadian clean-electricity investment is being structured.

The SREPs totals indicate a growing Canadian pipeline for storage and renewable integration, but they do not establish equipment compatibility, installer quality or economics for a specific household or commercial project. Local utility rules, tariffs, interconnection requirements and exact equipment still need separate project-level verification.
