Melnti research

Solar in Asia

Regional solar research covering rooftop PV, distributed storage, self-consumption and country-specific rules across Asia.

Dense urban rooftops and solar

One region, many policy models

Asian solar markets range from mature rooftop programmes to emerging distributed-energy systems. Utility structure, export compensation, quotas, interconnection standards and local manufacturing can all change the economics.

Self-consumption is increasingly important

Where exported electricity receives limited or no bill credit, daytime load matching becomes central. Businesses with strong daytime demand may therefore have different economics from households whose largest loads occur after sunset.
